What the Numbers Mean
- POINT COUNT = Fineness of Construction: Higher point counts allow a finer, more detailed construction. Think of this somewhat like resolution—the 1.5M carpet has the finest construction, but that doesn't mean it must also be the thickest carpet.
- FACE WEIGHT = Amount of Pile Yarn: This tells customers how much pile yarn is present per area. Your 1.2M is the heaviest at 115 oz/yd².
- PILE HEIGHT = Thickness / Cushioning: Your 1.2M is also the tallest at 14 mm, giving it the thickest and plushest character.
- DTEX = Yarn Size: The 1900 dTex yarn is heavier and more substantial, while your 1600 dTex yarn is finer, allowing the 1.5M construction to achieve a more refined, smooth surface.
- PILE DENSITY = How Compactly the Yarn Is Packed: Density is different from point count and face weight. A shorter pile can have very high pile density because the yarn is concentrated into less vertical space.
